Notices Under Section 21 Housing Act 1988
1. There will be a prescribed form of section 21 Notice that landlords will be required to use in respect of any tenancy that starts on or after 1 July 2015.
2. Section 21 Notices will be time-barred, that is to say such Notices will mainly be usable only for a period of 6 months from the date on which they are served on the tenant.
3. After 1 October 2015 it will not be possible to rely upon a section 21 Notice served on the tenant at the commencement of the tenancy, as such a Notice will be ineffective if served within the first 4 months of the tenancy.
